Comments (English):
We arrived in Albufeira and took a taxi to the address on our reservation for Hotel Da Gale. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a note on the door saying that the hotel was closed for renovations. No further information was given. The taxi driver said he knew the owner also owned the Regina Apartments and he took us there. By this time it was well after 9pm. We arrived and were greeted by Margarete Silva, the receptionist. She apologized that we had not received any notice of a change, but she had waited well past her work hours for our arrival. She was extremely pleasant and welcoming, telling us about the breakfast arrangements and showing us to our room. We were very surprised the next morning, when she was the one serving breakfast. She also gave us information about Albufeira and over the next week, proved to be a very informative, competent and pleasant "jack-of-all-trades". We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it a further 3 days. While the Regina Apartment building was older, it was very close to all the shops and beach. It has a small kitchen area and, as mentioned above, the service was exceptional. The cost over the Easter weekend was rather steep, but the rest of the time the value was very good.

Comments (English):
We arrived by taxi at Hotel da Gale and were greeted by a sign saying the hotel was closed. The taxi driver knew the owner also owned the Regina Apartments so took us there. We stayed there, thoroughly enjoying our stay. The receptionist, Margarete Silva, was extremely helpful, polite and kind. The building itself was older, but we did have a small kitchen to prepare some meals and breakfast was provided in the bar. In fact we extended our stay to 10 days to enjoy the sunshine and beach.
We can't say enough about the girls, Margarete and Susanna, who really made our stay very pleasant and enjoyable.
