Stayed in the hotel during a conference trip in Beijing. Booked a single room but got a free upgrade to an Executive room because I checked in very early around 10am. Instead of the usual practise of asking the guest to wait and leave the luggage and check in when the room is available later in the day, the staff offered me a free upgrade. This is what I consider excellent customer service. Of course the fact that I have to go and attend my conference and only return at the end of the day make this consideration very much more valuable to me. The hotel is overall clean and comfortable. Definitely, a four-star hotel by any US/European standards. The only bad point is that the hotel is very far (about 10 mins walk) from the nearest subway station which is the Guomao Station. The price is also slightly more expensive than some comparable hotel nearer the Goumao Station.

Hotel rooms are needed to be renovated and repaired. New furniture is needed. And restaurant is needed to improve its menu.
