to get a bed in a four-bed-dorm for 13€/night is ok.
the rooms are clean, although funiture seems to be quite old, matresses are very soft.
the staff is very friendly and you can use free internet at the reception.
some rooms have balconies.
contra: most of the showers have only cold water, there is only one other shower: and it has boiling-hot water... hm!

not the best, when we arrived our booking had been lost, they dont have a computer system to organse bookings it is all done manual! when they fanaly did put us in a room that was ment to be for 3 people now had 5 people so it was a bit cramped. then we relised that the window had been brocken and was now just a hole! the area is not a good area, there was a lot of noise and it seemed almose like the red light district!
i would not stay hear again

This was the cheapest hostel we found and it is fairly close to the acropolis and the archeological museum, so I can't complain too much. However they don't let you use the AC because it is too expensive and the management was not extremely hospitable. There was a fight among some other guests so the manager was preoccupied. our window was broken, but he would not move us into another room, there were only two beds for the three of us, so the third slept on a very uncomfortable cot. Overall it was livable, but you get what you pay for I guess.

esta situado en un barrio donde...no suelo ser racista...pero esta lleno de esos inmigrantes que fomentan el racismo. nos persiguieron varias veces por la calle y lo pasabamos mal. el hostal es lo mas pobre que he visto en toda mi vida. la ducha no tiene agua caliente, las paredes estan que se caen, no hay aire acondicionado y los ventiladores a 40º no sirven para nada....

los que estan atendiendo alli a veces les da por no abrir la puerta, por lo que te quedas puerta afuera en un horrible barrio. ademas no tienen ordenador y no controlan las reservas, se fian de que lleves la reserva impresa y q sea verdad, hubo gente que habia reservado y se quedo sin dormitorio por eso

la cocina es un simple hornillo electrico en el q tardas mas de media hora en cocinar la pasta....aunque solo pague 13 euros la noche...creo que no merecia ni 5

I've been there 3 nights and I honestly don't recommend the place to anyone. The neighbourhood is bad (there are prostitutes on the street where the hotel is), the place is not clean and the rooms look quite creapy... Plus, the staff is not very polite / competent either - they didn't clean the room when needed and although I payed for 3 nights at my arrival, they even tried to argue I only payed for 2 when I felt, so I had to persuade them I didn't need to pay an extra night... So overall it did not feel safe at all. Although the place is cheap for Athens, don't go there unless you really don't have a choice!

Sure, Athens House appears to be home away from home. Owner and staff are quite helpful and nice to talk to. They take personal care of each one of the guests.

Good job. Keep up and do better.

This hostal is the worst hostal that I have ever been to... I'm a backpacker so I really don't care about fancy places. But I think we all should be respected. I arrived at the hostal very very tired, wishing to sleep and I was told that the hostal was fully booked. I showed the "managers" my reservation and they said there was a problem with the web page and bla bla bla... And they were alwyas excusing their lack of responsibility with sentences like: "We charge only 10 euros and we are kind. Then people get angry with us. We should charge 20 as other hostals do". Well, these guys are not professional managers, but professional actors... As I didn't have another option (Athens in summer time is fully booked) I had to sleep in the floor of the reception, with so many other people (althoug people passing by all night long). Anyway, it was the worst place that I've ever stayed... DON'T GO!!!

Cena za pokój zgodna z oferta (tanio) i blisko do centrum Aten ale to raczej jedyne zalety. Sanitariaty niezbyt czyste. W pokojach dla oszczednosci postawione wiatraki, które niewiele pomagaja na upalne nocne powietrze mimo ze sa zainstalowane klimatyzatory (jednak powylaczane). Do pokoju dla zapelnienia lózek mozna miec dokwaterowana kazda osobe; niezaleznie od plci oczywiscie bez jakiegokolwiek pytania.

It is not hotel, so I can't complain for the facility very much.
Following is about the hostel as it is:

It locates about 700 to 800m from one of exits of metro "Omonia,"
and only on the 4th floor an apartments: HARD TO FIND!

Reception, there is no one or only one staff.
Room type I reserved on internet was a double or twin bed /room,
but there was a single bed in the room . The staff said, "this is a double bed room." ...OK

Two shower room was in front of my room: one of two was out of order.
Kitchen was stink, so I didn't use.

Totally the hostel seemed danger, but I had no trouble.
