Comments (English): Good downtown location, nice attendant. If you bring large luggages / suitcases be prepared to carry them in narrow and steep stairs ..

Comments (English): The hotel is basic but great location. Room was clean, shared bathrooms too. You better call them directly to reserve and save yourself the 20$ online booking fees.

Comments (English): We spent 2 nights beginning of August, renting 3 rooms for 5 people. The welcome was warm and professional despite our late arrival. The location is close to the touristic area but it does not feel safe and the alley behind the Hotel is very noisy with many people screaming, drinking and taking drugs. This unfortunately prevents to get the best experience of this nice hotel.

Comments (English): The hotel is clean and tidy and the front-desk staff friendly and helpfull. It's located on the Eastern fringes of the downtown area - not the best of areas due to a lack of restaurants/cafes and other amenities and the homeless populations nearby. However it is only a 2 block walk to better areas and the pan-handlers are not aggressive - annoying at worst. In any case they are all over downtown so you can't entirely escape them wherever you stay. The main issue with St. Clair is that some of the rooms are very noisy at night. My room backed onto an alley that was a meeting ground for noisy vagrants. That and the garbage trucks reversing and loading/unloading means that ear plugs are essential if you want to get any sleep. It's cheap accomadation and it's a fair deal in my opinion.
