Fiquei em um quarto duplo e gostei muito, bem confortável e a localização é muito boa também. Como não fiquei em em quarto coletivo, não tive problemas em relação à higiene.
Tenho duas críticas:
1. O atendimento na recepção não foi muito bom. De modo geral, as recepcionistas não eram gentis.
2. O café da manhã. É caro pelos itens disponíveis, não compensa.
Mas recomendo, é uma boa opção. :)

Good located on the main shopping street of the city, close to the centre.
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean with a comfortable bed.
The room was for reasonable price, and I would reccomend it for younger people with smaller budget.
Well worth the money!

This "Pensao Estoril" is situated by a pedestrian street with a variety of shops and bars/small restaurants. The rooms are rather small(and so is the price) and the walls to neighbourghing rooms have poor sound isotaltion, so you can't help hearing your neighbourghs coming "home". In compensation to the small rooms there is a well spaced common salon with internet (and printing possibilities if you fly cheap, for your return flight confirmations).
One of the receptionists speaks fluent english and can tell a lot of possible Douro river trips and other points of interest.
She will even arrange your trips.

The doors to the rooms have an electronic locking system that make it impossible for you to forget locking your room doos - even for a short while.

Most of the rooms have own shover and WC.
Towels are vey clean and changed daily.

The breakfast is included, but rather poor, like it is customary in southern Europe. American coffee, juice, freshly baken bread(good!) and sweet jam.

Compared price/quality I can recommend this Pensao for travellers who prefer portuguese lodging instead of international dull standard anonymity.

O pessoal de recepção foi muito amável e prestativo. Deram-nos indicações sobre a cidade, mudaram a nossa reserva (que por um erro nosso tinha sido feita para um quarto c/ mais camas do necessário) e, o mais importante, o tratamento, embora distante entre pessoas que não se conhecem, foi muito cordial.

O quarto estava em perfeitas condições, limpo e arrumado, e tudo funcionava.

Só o pequeno-almoço (incluído no preço) não era muito variado. Não ficamos c/ fome, mas só havia pão c/ manteiga e configura, chá e café.

Only real complaint is having to climb 50 stairs up/down without any assistance from staff when I'm loaded up with heavy luggage. Would only recommend this one to very fit & youthful folk.
