Comments (English): I have visited Shanghai several times but this was the first time I stayed at this hotel because the meeting I was attending was in this conference center. For a Chinese hotel the rooms were nice enough, the bath was clean enough, and the price was reasonable, once the hour long ordeal of checking in was over. The breakfast was typical but uninspired for the hotel type.
I encountered a very helpful, caring young woman (without a english name tag) at the desk that helped me recover a lost item, making 4 phone calls to help me. Even calling me later to confirm that I had recovered it.
Two other slightly older men at the desk who were initially helping me and checking me in could not have cared less and abandoned the effort leaving me standing at the desk when I discovered the room he assigned me was dirty. The same less-than-caring man had answered the phone when my assistant called to confirm my reservation (speaking Chinese) since I would arrive at 10 am from the US, and he did not care enough to make an effort confirm. My assistant had to make a second call from the US to get someone else to check on my reservation. So my experience with the staff was both very good and very bad.
