It's a nice place which extremely near the sea. I have wonderful memories of Wai-ao.

Have been staying here a few times each summer for the past three years. Great location and super friendly couple who run the hostel. Very clean facilities. I'll be back for sure!

Came up for a day to learn surfing, immediately felt welcomed into what is obviously a very special community in Wai'ao! Loved my (very affordable) surfing lesson with Dredd, absolutely great instructor! The food was yummy and it was so sweet that all the guests had a home-cooked dinner together! Everyone I met was friendly, down to earth, and a lot of fun! Honestly, didn't really spend much time in the room but it's simple and comfortable (although I found the beds a little short) and secure and safe. Couldn't have asked for a better hostel experience and will definitely be coming to back to surf when I can!

Great hostel right next to the beach and the train station. Chill surfing atmosphere, good food, good beer, amazing view !

It has a really good atmosphere. The owner makes everyone feel at home and part of their little family. Great spot altogether!
