Eco-Retreat

We have designed our retreat to bring as little harm to the ecology of the environment as possible. At the same time delivering luxury service without the luxury waste. All waste water is absorbed back into the ground the way nature intended and since we get our food locally, we have almost zero packaging waste. We employ locals to do certain tasks such as laundry services which are done by hand which keeps us off the electric grid and ensures that laundry waste water does not enter the water system. Our retreat is powered by solar energy. This gives us enough energy to run basic retreat amenities as we are not keen on wasteful lifestyles. For those interested we have biking and waking tours of the area.

Our accommodations are an eco-traditional style. We built our grounds in accordance with the environment that surrounds it and added that Tanzanian artistry that you can find in many traditional style homes. Instead of the traditional retreat style dorms, you have your own house complete with bed, worktable and storage space for your belongings. Our guest houses give you a total of 20 square meters in area (65 sq feet) and is the largest guest room you will find in the area. In keeping with green technology and our mission to preserve this wonderful environment, our retreat is powered by solar power.

We have a very large main eating area with an open concept that allows you to enjoy nature as you feast on fascinating, nutritious and tasty Tanzanian food. This eating area with a few adjustments makes way for our exercise and yoga floor which is open every morning for our warm up and yoga classes. Let's salute the sunrise! This is also our stage for dance performances and many other entertaining venues.

At night the air is filled with sweet smelling incense and morning gives way to the smell of our fresh herbal garden which includes rosemary, mint and others. For campers, we will supply you with tents, lighting, and also use of the eating area.

We re located in the lush green Arusha National Park also known as the jewel of Africa for its extensive greenery unlike many dry arid areas that travelers are used to. The area is also home to agriculture where much of our food is grown including the rice which is free of GMO and organically grown. Our retreat is a herbal and garden paradise with pleasant scents of rosemary, mint and other herbs. In other words, a meditational oasis.

We offer shuttle service from Nairobi Kenyatta International Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha. For airline discounts, it is recommended to land in Nairobi. Savings can be as much as $700 US. Please contact us if you need help getting the best rate in airfare and we will be happy to assist you. The price for our shuttle is $100 US from Kilimanjaro Airport or $100 US from Nairobi plus $35 US for each additional person.
